So after waiting months, and months, AND MONTHS to know what we are doing in the Fall and where we will live, etc. The decision has come and the waiting is over, at least temporarily. We got the call Saturday night that Jason has been invited to student teach 9th Grade Seminary classes at Lehi Junior High. We are both surprised, since it was very unlikely, but happy for the news. I think Jason is just as happy to teach seminary as he is that he doesn't have to worry about what to do if he weren't teaching seminary. He's going teach two classes in the afternoon everyday and will be contracted for about 20 hrs a week. After teaching for one semester, he will be re-evaluated to see if he can teach a second semester and then be up for hire. He will have training meetings and such over the summer to help him get ready, and we'll find out more details in the coming weeks.
What does that mean for me? It means that I get to look for a job and now I know what part of the country and state to look for one. Since both Jason and I will graduate in August, we'll be off of student insurance and have to enter the "real" world. There are still a lot of questions and details to be worked out, but it's nice to see at least a few more months into the future. As of the last few days, we're think about moving to the Lehi area, but that will largely depend on where I find work. Onward and Upward!
Wahoo!! Congrats guys! That's a tough job to get. They must recognize talent when they see it, we're proud of you Ja. We'll be excited to talk to you and hear the details of the upcoming plans and hope the job hunt goes well Julie.
