Utah Trip Part 3

After the official Family Reunion at Aspen Grove, we still had a few more family activities before we left Utah. One of those was the Richards Family Reunion to celebrate Grandpa Derrill Richard's 90th Birthday. And it certainly was a weekend of celebration to honor him. We had professional pictures taken at This is the Place Heritage Park in Salt Lake City with a luncheon and program at Smoot Hall there. The lunch and program were wonderful and afterwards many of us stayed and visited the park. It was incredibly hot but still enjoyable and we wished we could have had more time there. There is a lot to see and do.
Derrill H. Richards with his wife Colleen and his 6 children with most of their spouses there. Diane is the fourth child.

You could take a train to the different areas

You would never guess from the picture it was 100 degrees outside!
We had a closing event another night at Liberty Park that included dinner catered by Cafe Rio. We listened to stories about our ancestors, including Franklin D. Richards and even learned part of a dance from Lisa
Tanner and Julie Olsen and their week old baby Joshua
We did get to visit with a few friends on our trip....not nearly as many as I would have liked, and unfortunately I didn't get pictures with some of them....sorry Marilee and Kendra....I forgot to get a picture of us TOGETHER!! We also enjoyed an evening at Jeff and Sally's house and got a peek at the new home they're building. It will be so nice when the house is finished!
We ate lunch with Sara at the Cougareat along with a whole lot of EFY kids. Our kids were a little out of sorts, so I'm glad Sara put up with us! It was so good to visit!
While we were on BYU campus we walked along the path South of Campus and walked through some of the new buildings. It was a fun walk down memory lane!
We got to hang out with Erica and her kids, and she was kind enough to get us into the Museum of Natural Curiosity at a discount. These cute kids are growing up so fast!
After Erica got us into the Museum of Natural Curiosity, we were able to spend 4 hours there with my Mom and Dad. It was fun to have them there and get to see them exploring and having fun.
Lydia being somewhat daring at the museum

We loved this music room where you could play around with different rhythms

The climbing area was pretty amazing too and Ethan loved exploring it
Ethan and Jason exploring the water area

Grandma pushed Lydia around while she took a needed nap

We all tested out this wind tunnel. It was intense to feel those 70-80 mph winds

Ethan loved this zip line and wanted to ride it again and again
I love this picture of us at the Museum
The rest of these pictures are just some miscellaneous ones from our trip. We loved visiting with family and friends in Utah and were sad to leave. We hope we will be able to return again soon!
Burninghams and Eliasons, lots of cousins to play with at Grandma's house

Playing baseball in Grandma's front yard
These two cute cousins are only 5 months apart. I'm glad they're friends too.
